Work Life Balance

You are paid to work 9-5, and this should be adequate to succeed. Obviously there may be exceptions but if you find the exceptions becoming regular talk to Simon about adjusting your workload to fit into a regular work day. If you want to work from home on a particular day, or work different hours, please email/Slack Simon to request this.

Mental health days are encouraged and approved without question.

Holidays

Using your annual leave for holidays is encouraged and Simon/other lab members won't expect replies to any communication from you during a holiday. Feel free to use an auto-responder and not check your email. In return we ask for a couple of weeks notice of longer holidays so we can prepare and make sure everyone is able to cover.

Please make sure your holidays are added to the lab calendar:

Leave should also be requested through for HR purposes.
